Confidentiality of Information
I respect the confidential nature of the information you choose to share with me. I will not tell anyone else what you discuss with me, or even that you are in counseling with me without your prior written permission. I comply with local laws governing counselor and client privileges. These laws limit certain types of confidentiality which I am not able to protect. One example is in situations where I believe that someone’s life is in serious and imminent danger. The other exception would be that of a child, disabled or elderly person who is being abused or neglected. Please feel free to ask about my obligations and limitations related to your privacy.
