Marriage and Conjoint Counseling and Confidentiality
This type of counseling involves two or more persons who are seeking counseling at the same time from the same counselor. Examples of this are conjoint counseling, divorce counseling, business partner counseling and couples Counseling. If you decide to have individual communication with me during conjoint counseling, it is important for you to know that what you tell me will not be kept secret from your therapeutic partner. It can and probably will be discussed in our joint sessions. Do not tell me anything you wish kept secret from your therapeutic partner. For the purposes of treatment, I consider conjoint partners to be single entities with trust, transparency and honesty being keys to healthy interactions. Should you require individual counseling in addition to conjoint counseling, I will be happy to refer you to a qualified local provider. I will remind you of this policy before we begin our work together.
